Cottage core chair

Cottage core chair

This chair is definitely one of my favourite transformations so far. It was in a bad state when I picked it up, including previous repair work, rusted springs, dozens of original upholstery pins covered over time and more.
I started off by stripping the old upholstery which included the original horse hair padding. Then dismantled the old repairs and joints. After a good clean it was time to put this beauty back together. First some much needed repair work, followed by sanding and treatment.
Now for some fun... I've been dying to try some light blur paint and finally I had the right piece. So, after a layer of #Fleetwood #pure grip primer and stain blocker I painted the chair in a mix of #Frenchic #duckling and #aftermidnight using #twofussyblokes rollers. All products from Treacy Decor Roscommon. Love love love this colour! 💙 Once it dried I felt the finish was a bit too perfect so I distressed it a bit. The linen fabric was an absolute find, it was perfect for this piece and the studs were the final piece of the puzzle, I will definitely be using these again.
