About

Hi there, my name is Niamh McAuliffe and I am the founder of Killyan Mountain Design. The little guy in the photo is my fur baby and top assistant Albus. We recently celebrated two years in business and what a two years it has been.

Here at Killyan Mountain Design (pronounced Kill-eye-an) I redesign and refinish vintage and modern furniture. My background is in Fine Art and I've blended this with a love of all things old to create a business that embraces the core elements of both while producing sustainable decor.

Killyan is a small village in Co. Galway, where I spent my summers as a child roaming the fields and farm of my Mum's childhood home. When we were underfoot with nothing to do our Granny would tell us to go out and find the mountain. The mountain is non-existent but the search certainly kept us busy. To this day we still say we're going for a walk around the mountain. I moved here just before Covid changed the world with the intention of getting back to my fine art roots, but fate had another plan and Killyan Mountain Design was born.
