Mid century chest of drawers

When you love painting furniture like me it can be very hard to resist the temptation to paint everything! But sometimes the right thing to do is just let the beauty of the piece shine through.
This stunning 60s chest of drawers came from a local charity shop. It was clearly well looked after, just a few wee nicks and a small ink stain on top.
I removed the original orangey lacquer using #blackfriar paint remover and sanded it back to the original veneer and stunning teak legs. Check out the beautiful layer detail on the drawers and top from the laminated wood that was hidden away under dull brown varnish. The surface has been finished off with #Frenchic #browningwax which really highlights the woodgrain. Love this stuff.
The original handles were a bit tarnished but some antique gold spray paint has brought them back as good as new.
