I've said it before and I'll say it again guys, they don't make 'em like they used to.
This solid oak dining table came to me well used but well loved. The scrapes and marks told the story of many happy family meals shared around it over the years and now its ready for a new chapter with a new family.
I stripped it right back to the original wood surface and found the most stunning wood grain patterns underneath. I added some wood dye to highlight that grain and finished it with clear satin varnish for the durability needed in a kitchen setting. We went for a light white wash on the legs to add some contrast while at the same time still showing off the beautiful oak beneath. The legs are finished with browning wax for a french country look.
