Traditional children's three legged stool

It can be saved! How cute is this old, handmade Irish children's stool?...

A small project for a lovely neighbour who used it as a child herself, saw her children using it and now her grandchildren Now with some TLC it's fit to last for her great grand children too. I just love how something so simple can evoke such beautiful memories.

This beauty was clearly ravaged by time, layers of paint, wood worm and a spot of dry rot. I stripped it back to the original oak finish, treated it to prevent any reinfestation, filled the wood worm holes with wax and refinished it with browning wax by Frenchic Paint to highlight the stunning wood grain.
