Vintage occasional chairs

My client picked these beautiful at an auction, what a find! Originally cane chairs, these vintage pieces were showing some wear and tear and had unfortunately been damaged by wood worm.

To bring them back to life I got to work on some serious prep. I removed the cane, sanded back the old lacquer, treated the wood to stop reinfestation and secured the loose joints.

To give them a new lease of life I used #frenchic browning wax, which really highlights the beautiful woodgrain, added a new comfy seat with gorgeous natural fabric and added a trim of #hemp rope from #woodies to set it off.

It's great to see people investing in vintage pieces, driving a more sustainable economy. Can't wait to see these in their new home!
